Aligning with the Bitcoin Strategy

My team, in collaboration with our VP of Treasury and our Chief Transformation Officer, has been creating courses to ensure that everyone at MicroStrategy grasps the foundational principles of Bitcoin and how it aligns with our corporate treasury strategy.

This initiative reflects our commitment to not only staying ahead of the curve but also empowering our colleagues with the knowledge they need to navigate this rapidly evolving landscape.

Addressing Knowledge Gaps

As educators, it’s been exciting for my team and I to create these courses. We have the unique opportunity to return to the virtual classroom and learn alongside our colleagues. As a purpose-driven team, we are committed to contributing to this strategic treasury initiative while also expanding our own knowledge base.

We actively collaborate with key stakeholders and colleagues to identify knowledge gaps and address them, much like we do with our MicroStrategy software training.

Building a Strong Foundation with Bitcoin 100

We started with Bitcoin 100, where we focused on establishing a comprehensive understanding of Bitcoin’s foundational principles. We covered essential topics such as:

• The history of money,
• The underlying blockchain technology,
• Bitcoin’s role as a medium of exchange and the dominant digital currency,
• Its impact on the global economy.

We also examined Bitcoin’s significance as digital capital and how MicroStrategy, along with its followers, is leveraging Bitcoin to enhance our business strategies.

To enrich the course, we incorporated valuable resources, including Fidelity’s insightful white paper on the case for Bitcoin and Michael Saylor’s compelling keynote speech at the Bitcoin for Corporations conference. These materials provided a robust framework for understanding the nuances of Bitcoin and its relevance in today's financial landscape.

Deepening Our Knowledge with The Bitcoin Standard

Next, we asked the entire company to read The Bitcoin Standard. This book serves as a comprehensive foundation for understanding the rationale behind MicroStrategy's decision to adopt a Bitcoin strategy and treasury management.

Fostering Bitcoin Fluency

In addition to the foundational knowledge, we incorporated learning around corporate adoption, helping our colleagues grasp how businesses can effectively integrate Bitcoin into their operations. By thoroughly exploring these concepts, we are fostering a culture of financial fluency around Bitcoin, equipping everyone to engage in meaningful discussions about its implications for our business.

Looking Ahead: Bitcoin 103 and Beyond

So, what's next for our learning journey? Bitcoin 103 will focus on financial fluency for Bitcoin, ensuring we’re all speaking the same language as we delve into key concepts both from our Q3 earnings calls and research papers on Bitcoin. This course will not only solidify our understanding but also empower us to make informed decisions regarding Bitcoin's role in our corporate strategy.
